Emerald Maldives set to open doors in August

The Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa is officially set to welcome its first guests on August 1, 2019. The brand new 5-star deluxe resort, which is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, is located in Fasmendhoo, Raa Atoll. Surrounded by 1.5 km of white sandy beach, the 20-hectare private island boasts 120 luxurious Villas. These come in both contemporary and tropical design and are divided into 60 beach villas and 60 overwater villas. Guests are offered the choice of holidaying at a jacuzzi villa, pool villa, superior villa, royal villa or presidential villa as best suites their tastes. In terms of cuisine, the resort is home to four restaurants; Beach Club Grill Restaurant, Le Asiaique, Amazonic Restaurant, Aqua Restaurant and Sunset Pool Cafe' and Sunrise Cafe' that offer a variety of delightful options. Big7 Travel ranked Maldives sixth on 'Top 50 Bucket List Destinations In The World 2019'. Pictures of the actor arriving in Maldives with his wife, Gauri Khan, and three children Aryan Khan, Suhana Khan and AbRam Khan, are circulating on social media. Maldives aims to eliminate single use plastics by 2025

Students representing 17 schools approached the parliament back in June, with a proposal on ways to decrease or eliminate single-use plastics Raajje.mv reports that the parliament has on Monday passed a resolution based on an appeal submitted by students from 17 schools, seeking to ban the use of single-use plastics by 2025. the report says a total of 64 MPs voted in favour of the resolution; there were no abstentions or votes against. Students representing 17 schools, and led by Ghiyasuddin School, approached the parliament back in June, with a proposal demanding to decrease or eliminate single-use plastics. They met with parliament’s committee on environment and climate change, and presented their recommendations; Speaker Mohamed Nasheed attended this meeting. Kite surfers reach final destination; Thuraakunu

The venturous surfers on the 'Raalhu Gudi' successfully reached its final destination, Thuraakunu island (the northern tip of Maldives) today.  Raalhu Gudi, the largest kite surfing event ever hosted in Maldives, commenced on 18 June from Addu City. The event was co-inaugurated by the city mayor Abudulla Sodiq and Deputy Youth Minister Mohamed Azmeel.  Surfing from south to north, 4 kite surfers visited several islands and they are well received with a genuine and pleasant welcome.  Upon arrival to Thuraakunu, the islanders organised a traditional style evening tea for the kite surfers. Kids dressed in traditional attire cheerfully received the surfer and the whole community gathered on the beach for the special event.  Island councillor  stated the islanders were pleased to host the final event, and felt privileged to have such a historic event.  Raalhu Gudi aims to promote kite surfing, encourage surfers, and creating opportunities for athletes.
