Kite surfers reach final destination; Thuraakunu

The venturous surfers on the 'Raalhu Gudi' successfully reached its final destination, Thuraakunu island (the northern tip of Maldives) today.

Raalhu Gudi, the largest kite surfing event ever hosted in Maldives, commenced on 18 June from Addu City. The event was co-inaugurated by the city mayor Abudulla Sodiq and Deputy Youth Minister Mohamed Azmeel.

Surfing from south to north, 4 kite surfers visited several islands and they are well received with a genuine and pleasant welcome.

Upon arrival to Thuraakunu, the islanders organised a traditional style evening tea for the kite surfers. Kids dressed in traditional attire cheerfully received the surfer and the whole community gathered on the beach for the special event.
